Annie Dugan
actor, aerialist, playwright & producer
- She is the co-founder and Creative Director of Firefly Theatre, a company
dedicated to merging the disciplines of circus and theatre.
- Annie founded and runs Edmonton's only Aerial Arts Program, teaching
aerial skills to community members and other artists.
- She has written Firefly Theatre's productions The Tail of the Peacock,
The Spirit of Eleanor, and Ballerina on a Horse. Ballerina
was presented at the On the Waterfront Festival in Halifax, the Oh
Solo Mio Festival in London, Ontario, and was nominated for an
Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Best Independent Production.
- She has created and performed her own work all over Canada, the U.S.
and in Asia, appearing at more than 40 festivals, including The Vancouver
International Comedy Festival, Festival d'ete du Quebec, and the Singapore
River Busker Festival.
- Annie is a graduate of the Dell'Arte
International School of Physical Theatre and has trained at the San
Francisco School of Circus Arts and the American Conservatory Theatre
in San Francisco.
- She is on the Treasurer of the Edmonton
Arts Council and an Ambassador for lululemon
athletica.
- Annie is the recipient of the 2007 Syncrude Award for Outstanding
Artistic Direction.
